Emily Johnson Claybrook, 87, of Henrico, formerly of Brookneal, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Lakewood Assisted Living in Henrico.

She was the wife of the late Curtis L. Claybrook.

Mrs. Claybrook was born in Campbell County, September 22, 1931, a daughter of the late Lacy Lazarus Johnson and Ruth Hamlett Johnson. She was a member of Bon Air Baptist Church in Midlothian, former office manager for Dr. John Gehman and Patrick Henry Boys Home.

She is survived by a son, W. Shawn Wayland of Pineville, N.C.; a brother, Ryland

Johnson of Brookneal; three nephews, Michael Carwile (Janet) of Lynchburg, Charles "Chick" Carwile (Barbara) of Gladys, Terry Johnson of Madison Heights; two nieces, Sheree Rhue (Wayne) of Wilmington, N.C., Julie Bartley of Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Jack Carwile.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2019 at Falling River Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Tom Stocks.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2019 at

Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal.
