A late night out in downtown Bozeman turned deadly in the early hours of the morning when a shooting erupted outside a local bar on the 200 block of East Main Street, leaving one person dead and a 22-year-old man behind bars facing a deliberate homicide charge.

According to the Bozeman Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene at 12:44 AM after reports came in that an individual had been shot in front of a local bar.
By the time law enforcement arrived, the shooter had already fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers immediately began life-saving efforts on the victim at the location, but the situation was already critical.
With the assistance of neighboring agencies, police were able to quickly identify and locate the suspect. The 22-year-old man was stopped, placed into custody, and charged with deliberate homicide.
