Shardai Allen, one of nine people charged in Minnesota’s largest fentanyl bust, was sentenced Wednesday to three years of supervised release.
Allen, 26, and eight others were accused of buying fentanyl pills from suppliers in Phoenix, hiding them inside stuffed animals, and mailing them to addresses across the Twin Cities.
Dakota, Ramsey and Washington counties launched a joint investigation and seized six packages containing more than 30,000 grams of fentanyl pills, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in 2024. The office initially charged six people, including Allen, but the number grew in March 2024 when three more were accused of involvement in the drug ring.
All nine defendants pleaded guilty. Two are still awaiting sentencing.
