Antonio D Lopez of Cambridge passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the age of 24. He was born on October 30, 2001, in Porterville, California, to Antonio Jose Lopez and Betsy Michener.
He was known among family and friends as a hardworking young man who valued responsibility, loyalty, and close family ties.
His life was shaped by both his California roots and his time in Ohio, where he built strong relationships and dedicated himself to service and community.
Early Life and Service
Antonio spent his early years in Porterville, California, where he grew up surrounded by a large and loving family.
From a young age, he showed interest in hands-on work and physical activity. He participated in cross-country running and was also a member of his school swim team.
These activities reflected his determination and discipline, which stayed with him into adulthood.
As he grew older, Antonio developed a strong commitment to service. He worked as a mechanic for the Ohio National Guard and took pride in supporting those who served.
He was known for volunteering for additional deployments when needed and was respected for his willingness to step forward during demanding times. His work reflected both skill and dedication, and he built a reputation as someone others could rely on.
Outside of his professional duties, Antonio enjoyed gaming and camping. He appreciated time outdoors and valued moments spent with friends in simple settings.

Antonio is survived by his parents, Antonio Jose Lopez of Porterville, California, and Betsy Michener of Cambridge, along with her spouse, Rolando Lachino.
He is also survived by his brothers, Noe Lopez, Vincent Lopez, Daniel Lopez, Maximillian Lopez, Mateo Lopez, and Alexander James “AJ” Goodman.
His family connections extended across both California and Ohio, and he remained close with relatives despite the distance between them.
He was deeply loved by his grandparents, Isabelle and Jose Lopez of Porterville, California, and Brenda Taylor of Cambridge. He also held strong bonds with his godparents, Tomas Lopez, who was also his uncle, and Maria Camarrena.
His extended family includes many aunts, uncles, cousins, and relatives from the Lopez, Michener, and Lachino families, who remember him with affection and respect.
Antonio also shared a special bond with his nephew, Cruz Lopez, and was a caring presence in the lives of younger family members. Friends and relatives describe him as dependable, kind, and always willing to help when needed.
His willingness to support others and his strong sense of duty left a lasting impression on those around him.
He is preceded in death by his uncle, Terry Lee Pyers. Antonio’s life will be honored by calling hours on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, followed by funeral services at 1 PM.
Burial will take place at Northwood Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and share memories.
Antonio’s memory continues through the people who knew him best. His dedication to family, service, and work remains a lasting example of a young life lived with purpose and care.
