The Delmarva equestrian community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kendall Reuwer, a young rider whose kindness, dedication, and passion left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
On April 9, her passing was shared by the USPC Delmarva Region, marking a deeply sorrowful moment for teammates, mentors, and friends who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kendall was far more than a talented horsewoman. She was an inspiration, a mentor, and a role model within her community.
Those who rode beside her remember her not only for her skill in the saddle, but for the warmth she carried into every barn, every lesson, and every competition.
Her positive attitude was constant, and her bright, infectious smile had a way of lifting the spirits of everyone around her. Whether someone was having a difficult ride or simply a long day, Kendall had a quiet way of making things better.
After graduating from high school just last year, Kendall stepped confidently into the next chapter of her life. She immersed herself in the equestrian world she loved so deeply, working with various trainers to expand her knowledge and experience.
At the same time, she showed remarkable initiative and determination by starting her own business, Delmarva Magnawave. It was a reflection of her entrepreneurial spirit and her commitment to improving the well being of the horses she cared for so deeply.
Her involvement extended far beyond her own ambitions. Kendall was an active and dedicated member of Pony Club and 4H, organizations where she continued to learn, grow, and give back.
She approached every opportunity with curiosity and enthusiasm, always striving to better understand how to care for and support horses both in and out of the saddle.
Her passion was evident to anyone who spent even a short time with her, and it inspired others to pursue excellence with the same humility and heart.
Those who knew Kendall personally speak of her with deep affection. Trainers recall her as a joy to have in the barn, someone dependable, hardworking, and full of life.
Teammates remember her encouragement and friendship. Even those who only crossed paths with her briefly felt the impact of her genuine kindness.
In the wake of her passing, the community has come together to honor her memory in meaningful ways. Ribbons will be worn behind pins at rallies and competitions, a quiet but powerful tribute to a young woman who gave so much of herself to the sport and the people in it.
Riders are encouraged to carry her spirit forward each time they mount their horses, remembering her through the shared bond she cherished so deeply.
Kendall’s life, though far too short, was filled with purpose, compassion, and joy. She leaves behind a legacy not only in her accomplishments, but in the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, teammates, and the entire Delmarva equestrian community.
