PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Portsmouth Police have arrested a suspect following a late-night shooting that left one person dead and two others injured on Saturday.
Authorities identified the suspect as 19-year-old Korey Malik Robinson, who now faces multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder, shooting in the commission or attempt of a felony, and willfully discharging firearms in public.
Incident Details
Police said the shooting occurred around 11:22 p.m. in the 4500 block of George Washington Highway. Officers responded after receiving multiple reports of gunfire in the area.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found two victims suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, 39-year-old Vinol Gleen Ealey was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
Investigators later learned of a third victim who had already left the scene before officers arrived but was later located and receiving medical attention at a local hospital.
Ongoing Investigation
Detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department are continuing their investigation into the incident. While Robinson remains in custody, officials have not yet released a possible motive or further details surrounding the shooting.
