Murfreesboro Teen Arrested in Connection with Virginia Interstate Shooting

An 18-year-old from Murfreesboro was taken into custody Friday morning in connection with a highway shooting earlier this month in Suffolk, Virginia.

Jacob Lee Harris was arrested without incident on Hancock Street in Lewiston/Woodville by the U.S. Marshals, Suffolk Police, and the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office.

Harris is accused of opening fire on November 12 along I-664 in Suffolk. He faces multiple charges in Virginia, including three counts of attempted murder, assault on a law enforcement officer, two counts of eluding police, and obstruction of justice.

He is being held without bond at the Bertie/Martin Regional Jail and is awaiting extradition to Virginia.
