Former NFL star Antonio Brown has been released from a Miami jail on a $25,000 bond after being charged with second-degree attempted murder involving a firearm. Brown, 37, is now under house arrest with GPS monitoring while he awaits trial.
Brown was seen leaving the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on November 13, where he embraced his attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, and stopped at a food truck before departing. He has also surrendered his passport as part of his release conditions.
The arrest stems from an incident in Dubai, where Brown had been living for several months. Authorities say Brown was taken into custody last week and moved first to Essex County Correctional Facility in New Jersey on November 6 before being transferred to Florida.
According to the arrest warrant, Brown is accused of seizing a firearm from a security employee at a celebrity boxing event hosted by streamer Adin Ross. Investigators say he fired two shots at Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, a man with whom he reportedly had an altercation earlier that night. Nantambu told police the bullets grazed his neck and identified Brown as the shooter on May 21, although the confrontation happened five days earlier, on May 16.
Brown played 12 seasons in the NFL, most notably with the Pittsburgh Steelers. A seven-time Pro Bowl selection, he finished his career with 928 receptions, over 12,000 receiving yards, and 88 touchdowns, including returns and one passing score. His last NFL appearance came in 2021 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
