Widespread subzero temps in Minnesota Thursday morning; more snow chances ahead

Thursday begins with the coldest temperatures of the season in Minnesota.

Many areas, including the Twin Cities, dropped below zero in the early morning hours. The metro will climb back into the teens once the sun comes out, but feels-like temperatures will stay in the single digits all day.

Friday brings a brief warm-up, with highs near 30, before another cold snap settles in for the weekend.

Light snow early Friday could leave a quick coating and create a few slick spots. A separate system moving in Saturday offers a stronger chance for accumulating snow across southern Minnesota.

Subzero lows return Sunday and Monday, followed by a slight rebound in temperatures early next week — along with another chance for snow.
