Piney Flats, Tennessee, Justin Charles Daily Dies in Tragic Car Accident, Leaving Sullivan East High School Community in Shock

Justin Charles Daily, affectionately known as J.C. or “Meat,” of Piney Flats, Tennessee, tragically passed away in a car accident on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Born on January 14, 2008, in Johnson City, Tennessee, J.C. was a bright, energetic teenager known for his infectious laughter and bubbly personality.

He was set to graduate from Sullivan East High School in May, a milestone that he unfortunately never reached.

Friends and family remember J.C. as someone who could light up any room.

His laughter and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who met him, ensuring that his memory would live on long after his passing.

J.C. was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Tanya Hall; maternal family member Patricia Peterson, who was his godmother; great-grandparents John and Nellie Barnett and Wallace and Alice Faye Mitchell; and uncles Jesse “Slugger” Mitchell, Gene Mitchell, and Dickey Lee Mitchell.

He is survived by his loving parents, Justin and Alice Hall, and his sisters, Cadence and Aubrey Hall.

He also leaves behind grandparents Chalk and Lisa Mitchell, his special friend Arianna Shaffer, and a large circle of cousins, aunts, uncles, and great-aunts and uncles who will continue to cherish his memory.

Among them are cousins Bryson, Amanda, Aliyah, L.J. Mitchell, and many more, along with aunts and uncles Brady Mitchell and wife Ashley, C.J. Mitchell and wife Shatonna, and others.

A memorial service to celebrate J.C.’s life will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the Weaver Funeral Home chapel, with Pastor Jeff Milsap officiating.

The committal service will follow at Saint Paul United Methodist Cemetery on Allison Road in Piney Flats.

Active pallbearers will include Bryson Mitchell, Will Shipley, Bubba J. Mitchell, Peyton Bowman, Kyle Key, Ethan Berg, Bobby Trivett, Jonah Keeler, and Jonathan Russell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Renfro, Ethan Weineburner, and the teachers and students of Sullivan East High School.

Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services is overseeing the arrangements. The community mourns the loss of this young life cut tragically short in the Justin Charles Daily car accident.
