An incident at Harper Junior High drew attention after Beth Young Bourne arrived on campus holding signs that read “Your body is perfect” and “No boys in girls’ sports.”
According to Bourne, three mothers, each identifying as having a transgender child, approached her and attempted to prevent her from speaking with students.
Bourne also said she went to the school to ask who had placed flyers around campus earlier in the week that included her photograph.
The confrontation, which was recorded and later posted online, unfolded amid heightened national debate over youth gender identity, school policies, and student safety.
In the video, Bourne repeatedly states phrases:
“No one is trans here, Get the boys out of the girls’ locker room,”
She framed her message as opposition to what she describes as medical harm to children and unfairness in girls’ athletics.
In the comment section of her post, reactions were sharply divided.
Supportive commenters echoed concerns about schools influencing students, with remarks
“Stop manipulating young people in our schools”
Others strongly disagreed, urging protection for transgender and queer youth and condemning what they described as medical malpractice, saying, “Protect queer kids from medical malpractice! There is no wrong way to be a boy or a girl.”
Together, the video and responses highlight the deep and ongoing conflict surrounding gender identity, medical decisions, and student spaces in schools.
