Two-Vehicle Crash With Injuries on Saw Mill River Parkway/I-684 Interchange — Traffic Controlled, Lane Reopened After EMS Response

A Saw Mill River Parkway Crash at the busy interchange with I-684 in Katonah caused some headaches for evening commuters yesterday, but quick work by first responders got things back to normal without major delays.

According to a recent update from the Katonah Volunteer Fire Department, the incident happened around 5:00 PM on the northbound side of the interchange between the Saw Mill River Parkway and I-684.

Their team, along with Katonah/Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps (KBHVAC), was dispatched right away to reports of a two-vehicle accident with injuries.

When Car 2211 from the fire department arrived on scene, they confirmed two vehicles were involved, both stopped on the left shoulder.

Crews jumped in to set up traffic control to keep everyone safe while they worked. They also handled a minor fluid leak from one of the vehicles to prevent any bigger issues.

EMS teams took care of the patients who were reported to have injuries, providing the necessary medical attention on site.

Once patient care was complete, tow trucks removed both vehicles from the area. With the scene cleared, fire department units returned to service, and the left lane reopened to traffic.

Thankfully, the crash didn’t lead to long-term road closures or severe complications.

The fast response from local firefighters, ambulance crews, and other responders helped minimize disruptions during the busy evening rush.
