With hearts heavy beyond measure, the family of Jasper Ryan Richardson announces the passing of their beloved son on March 15, 2026, at the tender age of six.
Born on November 6, 2019, in Abbeville, Louisiana, Jasper was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him.
From the very beginning, he radiated joy, laughter, and curiosity, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who encountered his infectious spirit.
Jasper had a remarkable energy and enthusiasm for life. Whether running across a soccer field chasing the ball, roaring like a T. rex in imaginative play, or racing as Sonic the Hedgehog in his own adventures, he approached every moment with joy and wonder.
He had a special fondness for the color yellow, a reflection of his sunny disposition and warm, cheerful personality. Jasper loved learning, particularly math, which showcased his bright curiosity and eagerness to explore the world around him.
He was deeply loved by his mother, Kali Monteaux, and stepfather, Kendrick Gaspard, and was a cherished brother to Kolson and Asher Gaspard, stepbrother Brantley, and stepsisters Ainsley and Adeline.
Jasper also brought joy to his extended family, including his maternal grandmother, Tammy Hebert, paternal grandmother, Janice Richardson; and step paternal grandparents, Derick and Crystal Conner, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him.
Jasper was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kenneth R. Monteaux, Sr., his paternal grandfather, Steve Richardson, and his stepmother, Kasie Richardson.
Despite his young age, Jasper’s presence was a bright and enduring force in the lives of his family, a source of happiness, love, and laughter.
Visitation for Jasper will be held at Vincent Funeral Home in Abbeville on March 27, 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery.
In celebration of Jasper’s vibrant life, attendees are encouraged to wear bright and colorful attire, with children wearing shades of yellow to honor his favorite color.
Pallbearers will include Tyler Monteaux, Eric Hebert, Keegan Gaspard, Kaden Conner, Logan Boudreaux, and Avery Delcambre, with Brandon Delcambre serving as honorary pallbearer.
In addition to the funeral arrangements, Jasper’s family has established a GoFundMe fundraiser to assist with funeral expenses and support the family during this profoundly difficult time.
The generosity of the community has been overwhelming, reflecting the love and respect for Jasper and his family during their grief.
Jasper Ryan Richardson will forever be remembered for his boundless energy, brilliant smile, and the light he brought to every room he entered.
Though his life was far too short, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, sweet boy. You will always be our sunshine.
