Witnesses Reported High Speed Before Collision
Investigators interviewed two motorists who were traveling on County Road 1000 North shortly before the crash occurred.
According to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office, both witnesses reported being passed by the GMC Acadia west of the crash location. They told deputies the vehicle appeared to be traveling at a speed significantly above the posted limit.
Those witness statements are among several factors being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Multiple agencies responded to assist at the scene, including Sergeant Gabe Struss, Detectives Joe Walker and Justin Gorny, Deputies Micah Dokmanovic and Dylan Hisick, the New Carlisle Fire Department, New Carlisle EMS, the LaPorte County Coroner’s Office, and Quick Towing.
