Authorities in Huntsville are asking for the public’s help in locating a 28-year-old man who was reported missing earlier this month after last being seen near a local restaurant area.

Kishawn Lamont Matthews, who is also known by the nickname Keke, was reported missing by his family on Friday, April 3, after he disappeared from his residence on Powell Drive in Huntsville, Alabama.

According to police information, Matthews was last confirmed to have spoken with his family by phone on Monday, March 30. His family became concerned when contact stopped, and efforts to reach him were unsuccessful in the days that followed.

Investigators later learned that a friend reported seeing Matthews on Tuesday, March 31, at a restaurant located near Highway 53 and Research Park Boulevard. That sighting remains the most recent confirmed information regarding his possible whereabouts.

The Huntsville Police Department has stated that Matthews is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs around 150 pounds. Officials also noted that he has a mental health condition that may cause him to become disoriented or wander.

Police added that he does not have access to a vehicle, which has increased concern about his ability to travel far on his own.

Law enforcement officials are treating the case as a welfare concern and are asking anyone who may have seen Matthews or who may have information about his current location to come forward.

Investigators believe that public awareness could play an important role in helping locate him safely.

Family members have described Matthews as someone who is known within his community, and they are hoping for safe contact or any sign that he is receiving assistance.

The uncertainty surrounding his disappearance has prompted continued efforts from both relatives and police as they work to retrace his last known movements.

The Huntsville Police Department has urged residents, especially those in the areas around Powell Drive and the Highway 53 corridor, to remain alert. Officers are also reviewing possible surveillance footage and following up on leads provided by the public.

Authorities have provided a direct contact line for anyone with information. Investigator Bruce can be reached at 256 213 4537. Police have emphasized that even small details could help narrow down the search and assist in bringing Matthews home safely.

Community members in Huntsville have increasingly turned to social media and local sharing networks to spread awareness of missing person cases, and the Matthews case has begun circulating among residents hoping to support the effort.

Local officials continue to stress the importance of timely reporting when someone is believed to be missing, particularly when there are health concerns involved.

As the search continues, police are asking the public to check any areas where someone on foot might seek shelter or rest, including parks, public buildings, and transportation hubs.

Authorities have not released any indication of foul play at this time, and the case remains focused on locating Matthews and ensuring his well-being.

Anyone who has had contact with Kishawn Lamont Matthews since March 31 or who may know of his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Huntsville Police Department immediately.
