Duluth Firefighters Quickly Contain RV Blaze; One Hospitalized

Duluth firefighters responded early Wednesday morning to an RV fire in the alley of the 400 block of East Eighth Street. Crews arrived at approximately 5:08 a.m. to find the vehicle fully engulfed and flames threatening nearby power lines and the exterior of an adjacent building, according to a city press release.

A person who had been sleeping inside the RV was transported to a local hospital for treatment after inhaling smoke. The American Red Cross is assisting the individual, who was displaced by the fire.

No other injuries were reported. Damage to the RV and the affected building exterior is estimated at less than $15,000, officials said.

The fire remains under investigation. The response was supported by St. Louis County 911 dispatch, Minnesota Power, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, and the Duluth Police Department.
