Campbell County and Lynchburg 4-H held their 4-H Summer Camp jointly this year. The venue was Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center in Appomattox County, and the dates were July 17-21.

Camp included all sorts of activities for the participants, including swimming, canoeing, fishing, archery, climbing, challenge course, crafts, theatre, leatherworking, and more. The campers enjoyed “lots of tasty food out here at the beautiful Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center,” reported 4-H staff on a social media post. They also had a candlelight event on the final night.

The Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center provides camping opportunities for 4-H programs in 17 counties and two cities, both on this side of Appomattox and the counties to the east and north. Camps for the various chapters run throughout the summer, as well as some specialized camps, such as Forestry Camp and Shooting Education Camp.

Staff reported at the conclusion of the Campbell-Lynchburg camp, “4-H Camp for our excellent Campbell County and Lynchburg City kids was a huge success! We look forward to seeing you all again next year.”
