A somber morning awaited workers at Advanced Process Technologies in Cokato, Minnesota, on November 11, when an employee was discovered dead at her workstation.

Deputies with the Wright County Sheriff’s Office responded around 6:00 a.m. after a 9-1-1 call reported the emergency. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by deputies and Cokato Ambulance, the adult female victim—who suffered severe head trauma—was pronounced dead at the scene.

Early findings indicate her death resulted from an assault involving a blunt force object allegedly used by one of her coworkers. Deputies arrested 40-year-old David Bruce Delong of Watkins at the scene without incident.

Authorities have not released the victim’s name out of respect for her privacy and in consideration of the sensitivity surrounding her death.

“The initial investigation indicated that the adult female’s death was due to an assault by an adult male coworker with a blunt force object,” the Wright County Sheriff’s Office stated. Delong remains in custody as investigators continue working on the case, identified as number 25031532. The inquiry is ongoing as officials examine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
