Former Employee Files Fraud Complaint Against Westmoreland Plastics at Latrobe Police Department After Check Reversal

Latrobe, PA — A local worker is taking legal action after her former employer allegedly withdrew a paycheck after she quit, prompting her to visit the Latrobe Police Department to file charges.

The woman, who spoke publicly on social media about the incident, said she was called to the bank earlier this week over pending fraud charges connected to “Westmoreland Plastics.”

According to her account, the company not only canceled her paycheck but reclaimed funds after learning she had resigned.

She said she acted in accordance with her bank’s instructions and went to the police department to file charges herself.

“I’m standing up to them, like every other employee was too afraid to do,” she wrote. “Don’t mind my face and eyes, I’ve been crying a lot.”

Her post quickly drew support from friends and the online community.

Amanda Keefer commented, “Welp at least you’re in the waiting room area lol. Sorry you’re going through this. If you need backup, you know who to call. I’m down for a good tussle.”

Jennifer Little added, “Glad you’re standing up for yourself. That’s the problem with jobs these days… they think they can do whatever they want, but as soon as we do something they don’t like, it’s a different story. You have a right to quit… I hope they get in big trouble for taking back your pay. Proud of you, my friend.”

Other commenters shared similar reactions, with Michele Fontanazza calling the situation “literally insane,” and June Williamson encouraging her to contact the workforce authorities.

Holly Sass said, “Good for you, don’t let them get away with that,” while Donna Smith Young wrote, “I hope everything works out in your favor!”

Several people expressed confusion over the events. Catherine Brandt commented twice, “Your post is so confusing… Maybe don’t quit.”

The case has not yet resulted in criminal charges, but the woman and her supporters remain determined to pursue legal action.
