Hampton Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who pepper-sprayed two employees while robbing a convenience store Sunday.
Officers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven in the 1000 block of W. Mercury Boulevard after receiving reports of a robbery. According to investigators, the suspect was concealing merchandise when store employees confronted him. The man then pepper-sprayed both employees and fled on foot toward the 1900 block of Cunningham Drive.
No serious injuries were reported, but both employees required treatment after the assault.
Police describe the suspect as a man with facial hair who was last seen wearing a black jacket and black pants.
