Houston, Texas — A Houston woman has spoken publicly after her brother was arrested in connection with allegations of domestic violence involving his former partner.
According to the sister, the relationship between her brother and the woman included repeated abuse.
She said the woman eventually left the relationship. After the separation, the sister alleges that the harassment continued.
She stated that her brother contacted the woman repeatedly, followed her home from work, and went to her residence without permission on multiple occasions. She also alleges that sexual assault occurred after the relationship ended.
The sister said she contacted the woman directly to understand what had happened. The woman reportedly told her she had been living in fear.
The situation escalated further when the brother allegedly kept the woman and her children inside a home for two days.
During that time, he is accused of physically assaulting her and cutting her hair. The woman was later able to contact law enforcement.
Police responded and arrested him. Authorities have not publicly released full details of the charges. The case remains under investigation in Houston.
The sister also described an issue involving a vehicle connected to the former couple.
During the relationship, a car was placed in the brother’s name because the woman’s driver’s license had been suspended at the time. According to the sister, the woman made all of the payments on the vehicle.
After the arrest, the sister said her mother went to the woman’s residence to take possession of the car since it was legally under her son’s name. The sister said she disagreed with that decision and felt it was inappropriate given the circumstances.
She also stated that she had previously told her mother that her brother needed mental health treatment. She believes her concerns were dismissed. She said her mother has since asked for prayers publicly but has not addressed the seriousness of the allegations.
The sister, who says she is also a survivor of domestic violence, stated that she believes family members should hold each other accountable. She said the situation has caused tension within her family and has affected her emotionally.
The investigation remains ongoing.
