Jeffrey A Pohovey, age 65 years of Beach City, Ohio, passed away on March 24, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Massillon, Ohio, to Paul J Pohovey and Dorothy Thomas Pohovey.
He graduated from Fairless High School in 1979 and soon after began his long career with Tank Services.
Jeff devoted more than 46 years to the company, where he worked as a Project Manager and became known for his dedication and steady leadership.
His work ethic and loyalty earned him deep respect from colleagues and clients throughout his career.
Jeff was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time in nature. He also had a strong passion for woodworking and was admired for his ability to create nearly anything from a simple piece of wood.
Many of his skills were learned in honor of his father, reflecting the importance of family tradition in his life. He will be remembered for his quiet strength and craftsmanship as well as his kindness toward others.
He is survived by his mother Dorothy Thomas Pohovey, his wife Lisa A Chandler Pohovey, whom he married on February 14 2016, his daughter Ashley Swiger and her husband Jeremy, and his son Adam Pohovey and his wife Gennifer.
He is also survived by his three brothers, Donald Pohovey and Melanie, Gary Pohovey and Kim, and Bill Pohovey and Carlos, as well as his two grandsons, Devon and Gavyn Swiger.
Additional surviving family members include his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Julie and Gerald Wojcehowski, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul J Pohovey.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation care will take place. A memorial visitation will be held at Geib Funeral Center in Dover on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10 am to 2 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories and celebrate his life.
Throughout his life, Jeff was known among friends and coworkers as someone who could be relied upon in any situation. He approached every task with patience and care and often helped others solve problems with practical solutions.
His woodworking projects were shared with family and friends and often became treasured pieces in their homes. He enjoyed time outdoors, including fishing and hunting, which brought him peace and balance after long days of work.
Those who knew him describe him as humble and steady with a quiet sense of humor that made people feel comfortable around him. He valued honesty and hard work and carried these principles into both his career and personal life.
Jeff’s family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He shared a close bond with his children and found joy in watching his grandsons grow. Family gatherings were especially meaningful and often included stories, laughter, and the sharing of his handmade woodworking gifts.
His marriage to Lisa brought him companionship and support in his later years, and the two shared many cherished moments.
His presence will be deeply missed at future family events, but his legacy will live on through the memories he created and the values he instilled in those closest to him.
His memory will remain a lasting comfort to all who knew him.
