Man Hospitalized After Attempted Robbery at Columbia Heights Apartment, Police Report

A man was hospitalized following an attempted robbery late Friday night in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, according to local authorities.

Police responded around 10:20 p.m. to an apartment complex near 47th Avenue Northeast and Fillmore Street Northeast, located across from Columbia Heights High School, Highland Elementary School, and the Columbia Heights Family Center.

Investigators said the victim was followed into his residence by two men who allegedly intended to rob him. A struggle ensued, leaving the victim injured. He was taken to a local hospital and remains in stable condition as of Saturday morning. The exact extent of his injuries has not been disclosed.

The suspects fled before officers arrived and are still at large, police confirmed. No other residents in the apartment were harmed.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Columbia Heights Police Department in the ongoing investigation.
