Smithfield Police are investigating after a man was intentionally struck by a vehicle during an altercation in the parking lot of a Taco Bell on Sunday evening.
Officers were called to the restaurant at 1294 Benns Church Boulevard after receiving reports that a man had been hit by another adult driving a car, according to a department spokesperson.
The victim, an adult male, suffered a significant leg injury and was taken to a hospital in stable condition for evaluation.
Police remained at the scene collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses and everyone involved in the incident.
Authorities said the suspect has been identified and is cooperating with the investigation. The individual has made arrangements to turn himself in to the Smithfield Police Department within the hour, according to officials.
