A man in his 20s was killed and another taken into custody following a fatal shooting in Mankato, Minnesota, on Sunday morning, police confirmed.
According to the Mankato Police Department, the incident occurred shortly before 9:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Holly Lane. Officers later found a deceased man inside a vehicle on the 1600 block of Madison Avenue, just a few blocks from the original scene.
Investigators believe the victim, identified as 27-year-old Muridi Hassan Hussein of Mankato, drove away after being shot but died from his injuries a short time later.
Police arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the shooting and recovered a firearm believed to be involved in the incident.
Authorities are asking anyone with information or surveillance footage related to the case to call 911. The investigation remains active as officers continue to gather evidence and determine what led to the shooting.
