Muleshoe Mom, Bayley Cene Sanchez, Killed in Early Morning Rollover on FM 1760 in Bailey County

Bayley Cene Sanchez, 29, of Muleshoe, Texas, was killed Saturday morning, May 23, 2026, in a single-vehicle crash in Bailey County.

She was born October 8, 1996, in San Angelo, Texas, to Justin Frizzell and Blessin (Rogers) Vargas, and spent her life surrounded by the people and pursuits she loved most.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Bayley was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion west on Farm to Market Road 1760, just east of County Road 143, shortly after 6 a.m. As she approached a curve in the roadway that veered to the right, the vehicle traveled straight through rather than following the bend and entered the eastbound lane.

Investigators believe she overcorrected, sending the car back across the westbound lane and into the north barrow ditch. The vehicle rolled and came to rest in a field just north of the road.

Bayley, who was wearing her seatbelt and was the only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into other contributing factors remains ongoing.

She married David Sanchez on October 31, 2023, in Colorado City, Texas, and together they built a family she was devoted to. Bayley was the kind of mother who showed up for everything.

She loved being there for her kids, cheering them on at baseball and softball games, and throwing herself fully into whatever mattered to them. Outside of family life, she found joy on horseback, riding and roping with a passion that was as much a part of her as anything else.

Bayley is survived by her husband, David; her son, Brixtyn Sanchez, and her daughter, Blakelee Sanchez, both of Colorado City; her father, Justin Frizzell and his wife ShiAnn, of Muleshoe; her mother, Blessin Vargas, of Fort Worth; her grandparents, Craig and Gaye Frizzell of San Angelo and J.D. and Debbie Waltz of Dublin; a brother, Cy Frizzell and his wife Sydnee of Gustin; sisters Kenzee Harris and her husband Chance of Clovis, New Mexico, and Shaylee Nash of Stillwater, Oklahoma; her brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Hope Aguilar; and a large and loving circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews including Coy Frizzell, Paisley Aguilar, Miguel Aguilar, Veronica Aguilar, Adelyne Harris, Jamee Harris, and Maeze Harris.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Cotton and Christine Frizzell, Nolan and Ruth Stewart, and Charlie Rogers, as well as cousins Rustin and Eli Baldwin.

A church service was held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Muleshoe Fellowship, with Steve Friskup officiating. Burial followed at Oklahoma Lane Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to Mitchell County Girls Youth Softball and Mitchell County Youth Baseball, in care of City National Bank, 228 Elm Street, Colorado City, Texas 79512.

It is a fitting tribute to a woman who spent so many hours on the sidelines, cheering her children and their teammates on. Those who knew Bayley will remember not just her love of horses and the outdoors, but the warmth and energy she brought to everyone around her. She was 29 years old.
