North Miami Beach Woman, 31, Found Dead After Days Missing; FBI Takes Over Investigation

A Michigan family is grieving after 31-year-old Keisha Nicole Jones, who had been reported missing from the North Miami Beach area, was found dead.

Her father, Richard Furlow, who lives in Detroit, confirmed he received the heartbreaking news from officials on Monday morning, just days after his daughter was last seen alive on June 26.

Jones was last spotted around 6:00 a.m. at Dean’s Gold, a club located at 2355 NE 163rd Street in North Miami Beach.

Authorities believe she left the establishment in a rideshare vehicle and later made her way to Scarlett’s Cabaret at 2920 SW 30th Avenue in Hallandale Beach.

Surveillance footage obtained by WSVN 7News captured what investigators believe are the final images of Jones alive at that location.

Furlow told reporters he reached out directly to the morgue after receiving limited information from police. Officials there informed him that a body matching his daughter’s description was discovered sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. near the water or on a beach nearby.

A cause of death has not yet been officially released, and the exact location where her body was found has not been publicly confirmed.

FBI Now Leading the Investigation

The North Miami Beach Police Department initially handled the missing persons case but has since handed the lead role to the FBI.

Furlow said he has been told very little throughout the process, leaving the family desperate for answers during an already unbearable time.

Speaking to reporters, the grieving father described his daughter as someone who had recently turned a corner in her life. She had ended a prior relationship, started attending church regularly, and was focused on rebuilding herself.

A family member also clarified on social media that Jones had not entered a new relationship, as some early reports suggested, but had instead walked away from one and was growing in her faith.

Furlow said the pain of not knowing what happened to his daughter has taken a physical toll on him.

He described experiencing tightness in his chest and stomach, saying the only way he can cope is by trying to push the thoughts aside just to get through each day. His sister has also been inconsolable since learning of Keisha’s death.

Jones’ family traveled from Detroit to Miami amid the search and has set up a GoFundMe to help cover their travel expenses and support their efforts on the ground.

The outpouring of community support has been significant, with many calling for justice and transparency from authorities.

The case has drawn widespread attention across South Florida and beyond, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death.

As the FBI takes over, the family and the public are hoping investigators will move quickly to uncover what happened to Keisha Nicole Jones in her final hours. She was 31 years old.
