Norwich, Virginia, Passerby Steps In After Group of Teens Allegedly Assaults Schoolgirl

A Norwich resident says he intervened after witnessing a group of teenage girls allegedly attack another girl in school uniform on Magdalen Street, just a day after a separate incident was reported near Waterloo Park.

What The Witness Says Happened

According to a post shared in a local community Facebook group, Olly Jordan said he was walking down Magdalen Street when he saw a group of around ten to fifteen teenagers, believed to be between thirteen and fifteen years old, surrounding another girl.

He said one of the girls ran at the victim and forced her to the ground before he was able to reach them.

Jordan says he separated the girls and got them to walk away in different directions, despite what he described as abuse directed at him from the group. He said he wants to know if the girl who was knocked down is okay, and noted that not a single bystander stepped in to help before he did.

Jordan questioned whether the incident was connected to the one reported near Waterloo Park the day before, though this has not been confirmed.

Community Reaction Pours In

The post quickly drew dozens of comments. James Buckingham thanked Jordan for stepping in, joking that the behavior on display was becoming something of a local trend.

Kerry Sillett shared a similar experience, saying her daughter was once attacked by a group of nine and that adults had walked past without helping until after the fact, adding that the case had since gone through the courts with convictions upheld. SunnyFlamingo6520 said she appreciated seeing an adult intervene, saying her own thirteen-year-old daughter could easily end up in a similar situation.

Not all reactions focused on praise for Jordan. AttractiveLychee66 and Brenda Benjamin both pointed to a lack of parental supervision as the root cause, while Adam Semakula argued that the children involved were simply reflecting the environment they were raised in, criticizing parents rather than the teenagers themselves.

Nathan Pleass and MysticalRaspberry1416 offered blunter takes on the group involved, while EnthusiasticKangaroo2903 asked for more detail on whether the attackers were also in uniform.

Concerns Over Safety In The Area

Some commenters said the post reflected wider worries about safety in the area. MagicalBeet678 said she had been considering a nearby school for her six-year-old son but was now reconsidering after seeing posts like this one.

At this stage, the incident described in the post has not been independently verified by police or local authorities, and NewsBreak has not confirmed further details surrounding the alleged attack.

If you have information about this incident or the one previously reported near Waterloo Park, local authorities are encouraging witnesses to come forward.
