WASHINGTON — On Thursday, officials with Fairfax County Public Schools and Arlington Public Schools sent a letter to parents regarding online threats directed at multiple schools within the districts.
In the letters, officials said authorities do not believe the threats are credible. Even so, Fairfax County school officials said they will work with the Fairfax County Police Department to increase patrols in the area on Friday.
In Arlington County, police said they will increase patrols over the next two days.
Both local and regional law enforcement agencies are investigating the threats.
Officials are asking anyone with information to contact the tip lines. If you see or hear anything suspicious, report it immediately to school administrators or local law enforcement.
