Caidyn Vincent O’Haver, aged 13, of Racine, Wisconsin, passed away on March 13, 2026.
Born on September 16, 2012, in Racine, he was the firstborn child of Brandyn Drew O’Haver and Talina Janelle Caldwell.
Caidyn was known among his family and community as a kind, easygoing, and thoughtful young person who brought warmth and laughter to those around him.
A seventh-grade student at Gifford School, Caidyn was actively involved in multiple sports and extracurricular activities. He participated in cross country, track, volleyball, and basketball.
Basketball held a special place in his life, and he played for his school team as well as local programs including Racine City Park and Recreation, the Y Bray Center, and the Racine Heat Travel Team.
He demonstrated dedication to the sport and often spoke about his aspiration to become a professional athlete one day. He understood the value of effort, teamwork, and discipline, and carried those principles with him in both sports and daily life.
Caidyn was recognized for his curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. He had a strong interest in a wide range of subjects and enjoyed sharing knowledge with others.
He took pride in learning new facts and was known for his ability to recall detailed information about topics such as dinosaurs, aircraft, and professional basketball statistics.
His inquisitive nature often led him to engage in conversations that reflected both his intelligence and his desire to connect with others.
Family was central to Caidyn’s life. He shared a close bond with his parents and siblings, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his father through shared activities such as cooking, movie nights, motorcycle rides, and outdoor adventures. Simple traditions like family meals and weekend breakfasts were meaningful moments that he looked forward to.
He also enjoyed time with his grandparents, cousins, and extended family members, as well as friends, teammates, and coaches who were important parts of his life.
Outside of school and sports, Caidyn had a variety of interests. He enjoyed cooking, experimenting with different flavors in the kitchen, and spending time gaming with family.
He liked watching the night sky, fishing, hiking local trails, and learning about cars. He also appreciated music and had favorite foods and snacks that he enjoyed regularly.
Those close to him remember his humor, his willingness to engage in conversation, and his habit of sharing what he had learned with others.
Caidyn is remembered by his parents, his siblings, his grandparents, and a large extended family that includes aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends, teammates, classmates, and coaches.
His presence had a lasting impact on those around him, and he is described as someone who valued kindness and connection.
Among his personal goals, Caidyn expressed a desire to make a positive difference in the world, to help others, and to pursue meaningful achievements.
In honor of his memory, those who knew him encourage acts of kindness and compassion, as well as support for individuals facing challenges. His life serves as a reminder of the importance of caring for others and staying connected to family and community.
A public visitation is scheduled to allow family, friends, and community members to pay their respects, followed by a private funeral service and interment. Memorial contributions may be directed to assist with funeral and related expenses.
