Rocklin Family Heartbroken After Mother Amritpaljit Randhawa, 40, Passes Away, YBA Community Raises Over $20,000 for Her Three Sons

The Rocklin, California, community is grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Amritpaljit Randhawa, a 40-year-old mother of three who passed away after losing her fight for life following an accident on Wednesday.

Her death has left family, friends, and the Youth Basketball Academy community shattered, remembering a woman whose warmth, laughter, and love for people around her were simply impossible to overlook.

Amritpaljit, known affectionately as Amrit to those closest to her, was described by family members as a woman full of humor and light.

Her brother-in-law, Ravinder Singh Kahlon, shared a deeply moving tribute on social media, recalling how just last week the family had gathered at Gurdwara Sahib, taken photos together, and laughed as though it were any ordinary day.

He noted, with a grief that is difficult to put into words, that it felt almost as if it were the last time they would all meet together.

Amritpaljit was only three years old when Ravinder married into the family, and she had been a presence in his home and heart ever since.

Those who knew her say she had a playful, youthful spirit that made her magnetic at every family gathering. At parties, she would pull her brother-in-law onto the dance floor with songs dedicated to him, filling rooms with joy and laughter.

When her sister would gently remind her to sit with the elders, Amritpaljit would laugh and insist she was the eldest child of the family, refusing to be separated from the younger ones she adored.

She leaves behind three sons, Udhay, Ajay, and Zoravar, aged 13, 10, and 6, who are now navigating an unthinkable reality without their mother.

A Pillar of the Youth Basketball Academy Family

Beyond her role as a mother and sister, Amritpaljit was a cornerstone of the Youth Basketball Academy community in Rocklin. Coaches, players, and families at YBA remembered her as someone who consistently showed up, offered encouragement, and helped create an atmosphere where everyone felt welcome and supported.

Her generosity was not performative. It was simply who she was. She gave her time and energy to the community without expecting anything in return, and her absence is being felt deeply by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Organizer Kristin Brown launched a fundraiser on Spotfund in the days following Amritpaljit’s passing, with the goal of covering funeral and memorial costs while also providing financial support for the three boys as they move forward. The response from the community has been overwhelming.

The fundraiser set an initial goal of ten thousand dollars and has already surpassed twenty thousand dollars in contributions from 229 donors, a testament to how deeply loved Amritpaljit truly was.

How You Can Help the Randhawa Family

Those who wish to support Udhay, Ajay, and Zoravar can contribute to the memorial fundraiser on Spotfund, organized by Kristin Brown on behalf of the Youth Basketball Academy family.

Even those who are unable to donate are being asked to share the fundraiser and keep the family in their thoughts and prayers during this devastating time.

Amritpaljit Randhawa was 40 years old. She is survived by her three sons, her sister, her brother-in-law, and an entire community whose lives she touched in ways that will not be forgotten.
