Several Twin Cities communities declared snow emergencies Sunday following a Thanksgiving weekend storm that dropped several inches across Minnesota.
The National Weather Service reported 4.7 inches at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, with totals ranging from 3 to 6 inches across the metro.
As of Monday midday, Minneapolis issued 563 tickets and towed 236 vehicles, while St. Paul ticketed 1,385 cars and towed 351. Impounded cars in Minneapolis cost drivers at least $222, not including parking fines.
Minneapolis rules:

Sunday 9 p.m.: No parking on either side of snow emergency routes.

Monday 8 a.m.: No parking on the even side of non-emergency routes.

Tuesday 8 a.m.: No parking on the odd side until 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Notifications are sent via the Minneapolis parking app.
St. Paul rules:

Sunday 9 p.m.: No parking on all night plow routes, including downtown.

Monday 8 a.m.: No parking on day plow route streets.

The snow emergency lasts until Thursday 9 p.m. The city provides an interactive map for guidance.
New Hope and Plymouth also declared snow emergencies, banning parking on all city streets.
