Temple, Texas, police have named the man who died after a motorcycle and a vehicle collided at the intersection of Logistics Way and NE HK Dodgen Loop on Wednesday night, July 8, 2026. Officers were sent to the scene shortly after 8 p.m. after receiving reports of a crash between the two vehicles in that area of Temple.
Investigators say a car was heading westbound and attempting a left turn when it moved into the path of an eastbound motorcycle. The two vehicles crashed at the intersection, leaving both riders hurt. The driver of the car was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that officials described as non-life-threatening.
The motorcyclist did not survive. Temple police identified him as 27-year-old Kaden Miller, a Temple resident. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Bell County Justice of the Peace Larry Wilkey after emergency crews arrived and evaluated him.
Police have not released additional details about how fast either vehicle was traveling or what led up to the turn that put them on a collision course.
The crash briefly disrupted traffic in the area near a well-known Buc-ee’s location, according to earlier reporting from the night of the wreck, when officers urged drivers to avoid the intersection while the scene was cleared and the investigation got underway.
