Tonawanda Man Charged With Murder After Wife Found Dead Inside Home

A Town of Tonawanda man is facing a second-degree murder charge after his wife was found dead inside their home in the early morning hours of May 16, 2026.

Town of Tonawanda Police and paramedics responded to a first aid call at 337 Cleveland Drive at 2:48 AM.

When officers arrived, they found 51-year-old Tiffany L. Malvaso deceased inside the residence. According to police, she had suffered significant blunt force trauma.

Following the investigation, detectives determined that her husband, 36-year-old Nicholas M. Malvaso, was responsible for the fatal injuries.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A-1 Felony under New York State law.

Nicholas Malvaso was arraigned before the Honorable J. Patrick Lennon in Town of Tonawanda Court. The judge remanded him to the Erie County Holding Center without bail.

His next scheduled court appearance is set for May 21, 2026, at 4 PM in Town of Tonawanda Court.

The release was issued on May 18, 2026, by Tonawanda Police Chief Corey Flatau. Captain Joseph M. Milosich serves as the department contact for the case.

The news has shaken the Tonawanda community, where neighbors and residents were left stunned by what happened inside the Cleveland Drive home.

The couple lived together in the town, and the circumstances surrounding the events leading up to that early morning call have not been elaborated on by authorities beyond the official press release.

Cases like this one tend to raise difficult questions for communities that otherwise know their neighbors by name.

Domestic violence remains a serious public safety concern across the country, and incidents involving spouses or partners account for a significant portion of homicide cases each year. When something like this happens close to home, people feel it differently.

Tiffany Malvaso was 51 years old. Beyond what has been shared in the official police statement, personal details about her life, her family, and those who loved her have not yet been made public.

Her death, however, has left a mark on those who knew her and on the broader community following the news.

Nicholas Malvaso, 15 years younger than his wife, now faces one of the most serious criminal charges a person can receive in New York State.

A conviction on a Murder in the Second Degree charge can carry a sentence of 15 years to life in prison.

Authorities have stated that no further details will be released at this time as the investigation and legal process continue to move forward.
