Authorities have issued an urgent missing person alert for 78-year-old Earl Sweet, last seen in Moorhead, Minnesota, on October 6. The Moorhead Police Department, working with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), shared the alert on social media, urging the public to help locate him.
Sweet was last spotted walking in the 3300 block of Third Avenue North, wearing a camouflage baseball hat, a black coat over a green shirt, blue jeans, and brown boots. Authorities added that he sometimes wears a denim shirt. He is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing around 130 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.
Investigators now believe Sweet may be in the Fort Worth, Texas area. Officials are asking anyone who might have seen him or has information about his location to contact the Moorhead Police Department at 701-451-7660, or dial 911 for immediate assistance.
While the BCA is helping distribute information, the Moorhead Police Department remains the lead agency on the case. Authorities emphasize the importance of public cooperation, noting that even the smallest tip could be crucial in bringing Earl home safely.
Community members are encouraged to remain alert and report any sightings of a man matching Sweet’s description. Time is critical, and every piece of information can make a difference in locating Earl Sweet and ensuring his safe return.
