Winter Storm Heading Out of Minnesota After Dropping Considerable Snow in Parts

A winter storm is moving east and gradually exiting Minnesota Saturday night, with winter alerts expected to expire at midnight. Some areas could still see a bit more snow before the storm clears.

Southern Minnesota reported snow totals of 6 to 10 inches, while the Twin Cities metro area is expected to accumulate 2 to 5 inches. Areas just north of Interstate 94 should see far less snow.

Snow will ease from west to east late Saturday into early Sunday, improving travel conditions as the morning progresses. However, breezy conditions overnight in southern Minnesota could reduce visibility.

As the snow departs, a colder air mass will settle in. High temperatures on Sunday are expected to remain in the teens, dropping near zero on Monday. Wind chills could reach subzero levels both mornings.
