Fun Float Day features plenty of good food and music

Campers Ed Handy from Ferrum and Roland Johnson from Nathalie were stopping by first thing Saturday morning to get breakfast at the Ruritan Club. Ruritan Club President Mary Robertson is manning the cash register as they share a laugh.

Fun Float Day is underway in Long Island so come on down. There's plenty of food and free entertainment throughout the day.

Organizer Mary Robertson, President of the Long Island Ruritan Club, is at the club house helping get things started for the long day ahead of serving food. People are already putting in on the Staunton River for the trip down to Brookneal.

The popular fish fry will be held later in the day with music provided by Jazzwell from Cazzwell. Fun Float t-shirts are being sold all day and a raffle will be held for a large-size Yeti cooler. A $50 Dick’s gift card will be awarded at the end of the day.

This was the 43rd Fun Float Day sponsored by the Long Island Ruritan Club.
