Andrew Salgado, a 14-year-old soccer player from Miller Place, New York, has died weeks after a serious bicycle crash that left him in critical condition.

Salgado, an eighth-grade student at North Country Road Middle School, was known for his involvement with Atlantic United Soccer Club, where he played in the B2012 MLS Next Academy division.
On March 24, he was riding his bicycle along Route 25A in Miller Place when he collided with a Ford F-550 truck that was turning into a local business.
He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he remained in critical condition for over a month. Despite medical efforts and widespread community support, he died on April 30, 2026.
