During the December 10 meeting of Brookneal Town Council, Brookneal Police Officer Clif Mason reported to council that the town received 108 calls for service during the month of November with all but five answered by Brookneal. he shared that there were 11 traffic stops with three shoplifting calls, four larcenies with two cleared and two being investigated. The calls for service included six disputes with one non violent domestic incident. “We’ve also been doing escorts for business owners at the end of the day,” said Officer Mason who was filling in for Chief Ricky Baldwin while he was out of town.

A brief discussion followed with the group voicing concern over the growing number of people parking in the fire lanes at stores.
