Benjamin Perron, of West Chazy, New York, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 42, leaving behind a wide circle of family, friends, and community members who remember him for his humor, warmth, and unmistakable presence.

His passing has been met with deep sorrow from those who knew him best, especially friends who shared much of their lives with him since childhood.

Benjamin was a lifelong resident of the North Country. He grew up in Mooers Forks, New York, and attended Northeastern Clinton Central School, graduating with the class of 2004.

He later studied at Clinton Community College. From a young age, he formed connections that would last throughout his life, often described by those close to him as loyal, energetic, and deeply authentic in the way he related to others.

He was known for his long career and involvement in local work and community life. He worked in various roles, including at Arnie’s and as a relief technician at Select Sire Power Inc.

Most recently, he was employed as a cooking chef at Jay Peak Resort, a place that reflected his love of people, hospitality, and shared experiences. Those who worked alongside him often recall his humor and ability to bring lightness into any environment.

Benjamin’s friendships were a defining part of his life. One of his closest friends, Garret K. Woodward, described meeting him in seventh grade at Northeastern Clinton Central School after both found themselves new and uncertain in a public school environment.

That meeting marked the beginning of a lifelong bond. The two quickly became inseparable, spending their formative years together on cross-country teams, school buses, and countless shared adventures across New York and beyond.

Throughout his youth and adulthood, Benjamin was known for his adventurous spirit. He attended concerts and music festivals across the Northeast, went skiing at Jay Peak and Whiteface, and spent time camping in the Adirondacks.

He worked side by side with friends, including early jobs at McDonald’s, and shared countless memories that ranged from everyday moments to spontaneous trips and late-night gatherings.

Music was a constant presence in his life, and he was often described as someone who could connect with strangers through conversation, laughter, and shared appreciation for live performances and good company.

Those closest to him recall his ability to make others laugh effortlessly. His personality was often described as bold, humorous, and unfiltered, with a strong sense of individuality. He formed deep bonds with those around him and was known for his openness and willingness to engage with anyone he met.

Benjamin also valued family life. He was a father and experienced significant milestones with those he loved, including staying connected through phone calls and visits despite distance and life changes.
