Bethlehem Catholic High School Sweethearts: Mason and Shelly Westwood’s Love Story Began in the Classroom!

Mason and Shelly Westwood’s Love Story

Bethlehem Catholic High School is taking to its social media platform to share some sweetheart stories this year while celebrating its special centennial year.

During its one hundredth anniversary year, they call these “Becahi Sweetheart Stories,” and they have been posting them all month to celebrate how people found love right there at the school.

Among many of these stories, one belongs to Mason Westwood and Shelly Westwood, both from the class of 2012.

According to the post, Mason and Shelly first crossed paths in 2010 when they were juniors.

It happened in their English class taught by Mr. Wilde. The teacher put students in seats based on their last names in alphabetical order, and that put Mason and Shelly right next to each other.

At first, they were nothing more than just friends who talked because they sat so close. Over time, that friendship turned into something special, and by the summer of 2011, right before senior year, they decided to start dating officially.

Even since, Mason and Shelly have had each other’s backs through all thick and thin.

After high school, Shelly went away to college while Mason stayed closer to home. Even with the distance, they worked hard to keep their relationship strong.

Mason would drive to visit her, and eventually their efforts paid off in 2019 when they got engaged.

Three years later, in 2022, Mason and Shelly walked down the aisle. A year later, the next big joy came when their daughter Luna was born.

Now they have a little family and they look back at how it all started with so much thanks to the school.

Mason and Shelly often say that without Bethlehem Catholic High School and without Mr. Wilde putting them side by side because of that alphabetical seating, they might never have met at all.

They feel lucky that their love story began in those classrooms and hallways. They still hold a lot of gratitude for Becahi and everything it gave them, including the chance to find each other.

They remain forever grateful that Bethlehem Catholic is where their story began, “the post read.

It is such a heartwarming moment to hear how a simple class arrangement led to a lifelong partnership, marriage, and now a child.
