Chris Brown had several perforations in his stomach due to infection, which spiraled his health downward in a matter of weeks, and today, he weighs under 100 pounds.
He was a 46-year-old husband and father of four from Navarre.

Chris Brown is battling for his life.
Just weeks ago, he was living his normal life, enjoying the outdoors, fishing, hunting, working on cars, and spending time with his family. Then came stomach pain that sent him to a local hospital for answers.
The news was quick and jarring.
Doctors found multiple perforations in his stomach due to severe infections. The situation spiraled further when he aspirated into his lungs, leading to pneumonia. Each day seemed to bring more complications.
Chris was placed on a ventilator for two weeks and has undergone three surgeries. Medical teams inserted a tracheostomy and abdominal drains. At one point, surgeons told the family there wasn’t much more they could do.
The father of four was transferred to a long-term acute care hospital in Pensacola on February 19, 2026. Before the transfer, he developed an ESBL infection, a serious condition caused by bacteria resistant to many common antibiotics.
His mother, Amy, shared an update that brought both hope and concern.
He has made some progress and was able to have the trach and abdominal drains removed on February 27. He can now whisper and should regain full speaking ability with speech therapy.

However, the challenges continue.
Chris remains on feeding tube nutrition and currently weighs just 99 pounds. He has developed a serious pressure wound on his lower back that requires debridement and is causing severe pain.
Doctors hope he will pass a swallow test soon so he can begin eating by mouth again, but he remains at risk of aspiration, which could trigger pneumonia once more.
Chris and his wife, Crystal, are desperately seeking answers about how this health crisis began and what comes next. They have four children, Hunter, Alissa, Taylor, and Deanna, and a grandson, Maverick.
The emotional weight on the family is immense.
Currently in the ICU, Chris faces an uncertain future. If his bowel does not heal properly, he may require IV nutrition long-term. Possible next steps include an ileostomy bag as doctors work to address continuous bowel leakage in his abdomen.
A GoFundMe has been created to support the family during this critical time.
Friends, neighbors, and strangers are encouraged to send prayers and well-wishes to Chris and his loved ones as they navigate this unexpected and life-threatening battle.
The physical toll is immense, and the emotional weight on the family is something no words can fully capture. Any donations, no matter the size, will help ease the burden and allow us to support him through this critical time.
Chris Brown is fighting a battle no one saw coming, and he needs all the strength he can get from beyond those hospital walls.
