Organizers noted that the boys in the family are not particularly fond of vegetables, so volunteers are encouraged to keep meals straightforward. For those who may not be able to prepare a meal, gift cards are also welcomed as another helpful option.
The response from the community has been swift and generous. As of the latest update, the fundraiser connected to the meal effort has raised over $2,300 from more than 30 donors, far surpassing the original goal of $500.

Volunteers are asked to text Melissa before arriving at the home, and if the family is unable to greet visitors at the door, meals can be left on the front porch.
