Bridgewater, Massachusetts, is mourning the loss of Travis Reynold Sellstone, a lifelong resident known for his warmth, humor, and deep involvement in youth sports, who passed away on July 9, 2026, at the age of 26.
Born September 7, 1999, Travis grew up in Bridgewater and spent much of his life woven into the fabric of the local community. From baseball diamonds to soccer fields, he was a familiar and welcome presence.
His passion extended into paintball as well, where he not only played but also coached at various levels, helping younger players sharpen their skills and fall in love with the sport the way he had.
Those who knew Travis often described him as the life of every room he walked into. Friends and former teammates have shared memories of his energy, his kindness, and his ability to make anyone feel included.
He believed strongly in not judging people before getting to know them, a philosophy he lived by and often reminded others of, telling them they never know who they might meet or what someone might have to offer.
A Life Devoted to Animals and the Outdoors
Outside of sports, Travis found joy in the outdoors. Camping and fishing were among his favorite ways to spend time, offering him a sense of peace and connection to nature that friends say suited his easygoing personality.
Travis was also known as a devoted animal lover. He proudly cared for six pets, each with its own personality and place in his life. His household included a snake named Banjo, a bearded dragon named Emmy, a gecko named Vito, two parakeets named Nugget and Snowball, and a talkative, spirited parrot named Luna.
Beyond his own pets, Travis expanded his love for animals by becoming a foster caretaker for reptiles in need of temporary homes.
Friends recall how proud he was of this work, often speaking enthusiastically about the animals he was helping and the difference it made.
Travis is survived by his father, Michael, his mother, Joanne, and his partner, Victoria. He leaves behind a wide circle of friends, teammates, and community members whose lives he touched through sports, shared adventures, and everyday kindness.

The family has announced that a funeral service will be held to celebrate Travis’s life. Family and friends are invited to gather at Chapman Funeral Home on Friday, July 17, from 4 to 8 p.m. to pay their respects and share in remembering the impact he had on so many.
As tributes continue to pour in from those who coached alongside him, played sports with him, or simply crossed paths with him in Bridgewater, one message remains clear: Travis Sellstone left a lasting mark on his community, one built on kindness, loyalty, and an open heart.
