At just 26 years old, James Dean Coleman of Edna left behind a lifetime of memories that those closest to him say will never fade.

Family members, friends, and members of the community are mourning his passing after he died on May 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who cared deeply for him throughout his life.

Born on November 13, 1999, in Victoria to Johnny James Coleman and Donna Hubenak Coleman, James was known for his gentle spirit and the joy he brought to people around him.

According to his obituary shared by the Jackson County Herald Tribune, James graduated from Edna High School and found happiness in the simple things that made him feel safe and loved.

His family described home as James’ favorite place in the world. He loved animals and spent countless hours watching beloved children’s programs, including Blue’s Clues, Barney, Dora, and Signing Times.

Those close to him said his home was filled with laughter, comfort, and warmth, making it a sanctuary where he felt most at peace.

James lived with special needs, and his family openly expressed gratitude for the care and devotion shown by his parents and stepfather throughout his life.

His mother, Donna Coleman Kucera, and stepfather, Jason Kucera, were recognized for the loving support they provided daily, while his father, Johnny Coleman, remained a constant source of care and encouragement.
