Four-Year-Old Graham Joshua Clark of Bonne Terre Passes Away After Tragic Accident

A community in Bonne Terre, Missouri, is mourning the loss of a little boy who, in just four short years, left a mark on everyone he met. Graham Joshua Clark, born March 5, 2022, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, following an untimely accident. He was four years old.

Graham was born in St. Louis to Joshua Eugene and Brittany Lea (Kirkpatrick) Clark. From the very beginning, he was described as a bundle of energy and warmth, the kind of child who could light up a room simply by walking into it.

He greeted strangers with a curious “What are you doing?” and had a habit of telling everyone he met, “You are #1!” Those who knew him say it was not a phrase he tossed around casually. He meant it every single time.

His days were spent the way many boys his age dream of spending them. He rode his four-wheeler, fished, played T-ball and basketball, and wrestled with his older brother, Layne Green, who was one of his greatest joys.

He loved his chickens and his loyal dog, Hank, treating them like true companions on whatever adventure the day brought.

Graham had already developed a deep love for shoes at age four, with Nike being a favorite. He spent time in the garage alongside his father, learning and bonding in the quiet way that fathers and sons do. He loved being held by his mother, and those who knew the family say the love between them was visible to anyone nearby.

His neighbor, Stacey Barnhouse-Wright, shared news of his passing on Facebook, writing that she would miss seeing him and that her heart ached for the family.

The post drew an outpouring of condolences from friends and community members who expressed their grief and offered prayers for the Clark family in the days that followed.

Graham is survived by his parents, Joshua and Brittany Clark, his brother, Layne Green, paternal grandparents, Adam and Margaret Clark, maternal grandparents, Rhonda Price and husband David, and Ray Kirkpatrick and wife Rachel, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Ava Joy Clark.

A visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Desloge on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. until noon, followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. Brad Wright, a special friend of the family, will officiate.

The family expressed particular gratitude to Andy and Melinda Dugal and Jathon and Randi Cruze for the special place they held in Graham’s life.

In four years, Graham Clark managed to teach the people around him something that many spend a lifetime trying to learn: that life is best lived with curiosity, kindness, and the genuine belief that every person you meet deserves to feel like they are number one.

He will not be forgotten.
