There are love stories that unfold quietly, and then there are love stories that leave a mark on everyone who witnesses them.
The love between Marco Prado Grangeiro and his wife was the latter kind. Bold, devoted, and built to last a lifetime. As it turns out, it did exactly that.
Marco Prado Grangeiro was born on September 8, 1978, and lived a life measured not in years but in the depth of everything he poured into the people around him.
He passed away on May 13, 2026, leaving behind a wife who called him her love story and her heartbreak in the same breath, two children who will carry pieces of him everywhere they go, and a community of people who will not forget him easily.
Thirteen years of marriage is no small thing. It is thousands of ordinary mornings and late nights, arguments smoothed over, and laughter shared at the dinner table, inside jokes that nobody else would understand, and quiet moments that need no explanation.
For Marco and his family, those thirteen years were all of that and more. His wife described their time together as a lifetime of countless memories, and anyone who loved Marco would not argue with that.
He was a father who adored his children in the fullest sense of the word. Not the performative kind of adoration that fades when life gets hard, but the steady, present, showing up every single day kind.
His children will grow up knowing this. His wife has made certain of that. They will know who their papai was, what he stood for, and how completely he loved them.
The announcement of his passing came wrapped in the words of their wedding song, a detail that says everything about the woman he married and the relationship they shared.
Even in grief, she found a way to honor the music of their life together. “Who’s your Angel now?” she asked, and the answer, of course, is that he always was hers, and now perhaps something more.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 18th, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home, located at 767 East Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck, New York.
Those who knew Marco, loved him, or simply crossed paths with him during his 47 years on this earth are welcome to come and pay their respects.
Following the service, Marco will make one final journey home. He will be laid to rest at Cemitério Campo da Esperança in Brasília, in the Federal District of Brazil, the country that shaped him and the land his family calls home.
There is something quietly powerful about that, a man returning to his roots, carried by the hands of those who loved him most.
Marco Prado Grangeiro was 47 years old. He was a husband, a father, a son, and a friend. He was someone’s greatest love and someone’s deepest loss. He was adored.
To his wife, his children, and every person whose life was better for knowing him, the world extends its sincerest condolences. May the memories hold you up when nothing else can.
