Shorewood Mourns the Unexpected Loss of Mallory Richter, a Young Woman Who Always Brought Everyone Together

The Shorewood community and all who had the privilege of knowing Mallory Richter are grieving the sudden and unexpected loss of a young woman whose warmth, humor, and spirit left a mark on every life she touched.

Mallory passed away recently, leaving behind a circle of family and friends who are struggling to find words large enough to describe what she meant to them.

A Life That Brought People Together

Those closest to Mallory describe her in a way that says everything about who she was. She always brought everyone together. In a world that so often pulls people apart, Mallory had a rare and genuine gift for doing the opposite.

Whether it was a family gathering, a night out with friends, or a chance encounter with someone new, she had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and glad they showed up.

Her aunt, Patrice Richter Rothman, remembered her niece with a heart full of grief and love.

“She will be missed by everyone who knew her or came in contact with her,” Patrice wrote, adding the tender wish that Mallory keep smiling in heaven just as she had on earth.

That image of her smile appears again and again in the words of those mourning her, a detail so consistent it must have been one of the first things people noticed. Mallory was the kind of person whose happiness was not quiet. It filled a room.

Her friend Megan Sironi, who shared the news with those who loved Mallory, put it plainly and honestly.

“There is not an easy way to share this,” she wrote. “We are in shock and disbelief. Life is so fragile.”

The message she left carried the weight of a community brought to its knees, urging everyone who read it to hold their loved ones a little closer and never take a goodbye for granted.

Honoring Her Memory

A Memorial Service celebrating Mallory’s life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10:45 AM at Feerick Funeral Home, located at 2025 E. Capitol Drive in Shorewood, Wisconsin.

Guests are kindly asked to arrive 15 minutes early to find seating. A Celebration of Life will follow the service, with details to be shared on the day.

In keeping with who Mallory was, her family has asked that, instead of flowers, those wishing to honor her donate to the Wisconsin Humane Society. It is a fitting tribute for someone whose kindness extended to all living things.

Family and friends are also invited to submit cherished photos and memories to [email protected] before the service.

These will be shared during the Celebration of Life as a way of keeping her presence alive in the room one more time, through the faces and moments that made up her story.

Mallory Richter was deeply loved. She was the kind of person who reminded others, simply by being herself, that life at its best is lived close to the people who matter.

The grief surrounding her passing is as real as the joy she gave, and both speak to the same truth: she was irreplaceable.

She is survived by her mother, Doreen Richter, her aunt, Patrice Richter Rothman, and countless others whose lives are better for having known her.
