Greenfield Eli Lilly Worker, Marcus Allen Vise, 22, Killed in Indianapolis Motorcycle Crash Five Weeks After Wedding

Marcus Allen Vise had every reason to look forward to the future. Just five weeks before his death, he had married the love of his life.

He had a baby daughter at home, a degree under his belt, and a steady job at one of Indiana’s most respected employers. Then, on the evening of June 8, 2026, a crash on Indianapolis’s southside took all of that away in an instant.

Vise, 22, of Greenfield, was killed when his motorcycle collided with a Ford SUV along East Street near the intersection with Madison Avenue on the city’s southside. Indianapolis police say the crash happened around 8:45 p.m.

Investigators say the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the Ford pulled out westbound onto East Street, and the two vehicles collided. The driver of the Ford SUV was treated for minor injuries and released. Vise was pronounced dead at the scene.

Born October 13, 2003, in Indianapolis to Jeremy and Faith Vise, Marcus grew up in Greenfield, where he became a familiar and beloved face.

His family described him as someone who never met a stranger and who made friends everywhere he went. If he called you a friend, he almost certainly wanted to know your whole family, too.

A Life Full of Milestones

In the months before his death, Marcus had been building what looked like a deeply promising life. On May 1, 2026, he married Kiara Davidson, and the two shared a love of motorcycles and their bike club community, the very world that had first brought them together.

His wife wrote in a tribute that he was the sweetest and most caring man she had ever met, a man who wore a beautiful smile every single day, no matter the circumstances. Together, they were raising their daughter, Essence Vise.

Marcus was a 2022 graduate of Greenfield-Central High School, where he had been a proud member of the band program that claimed state championship titles in 2019 and 2021.

He went on to earn a degree in diesel mechanics from Lincoln Tech in 2023 and had been working at Eli Lilly, building a career with real momentum.

Outside of work and family, Marcus had a wide range of interests. He enjoyed welding, caring for his pet reptiles, and listening to music. Friends remembered his laugh as one of those things you simply do not forget.

Outpouring of Grief

The reaction from his community following the news of his death was immediate and heartfelt. Coworkers and friends took to social media to share memories and express their condolences to his family. Many described the loss as a gut punch, mourning not just a young man but the full life he had clearly been on the verge of living.

Marcus is survived by his wife, Kiara, daughter, Essence, parents, Jeremy and Faith, sisters Kerry, Emma, Loren, Lily, and Malyha Davidson, and his grandparents, Mark, Donna, and Patricia Kelsey, along with a large extended family.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, Indiana. A funeral service will follow immediately at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests planters due to an allergy.
