Hopkinsville, KY, Whitney Frost, 39, Injured as Vehicle Overturns in Busy Intersection Crash

A Sunday morning traffic collision in Hopkinsville resulted in significant injuries for a local woman who was later flown to a Nashville hospital for advanced medical treatment.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 9 a.m. on Fort Campbell Boulevard near the area connecting the Hardee’s and Arby’s properties. Emergency crews, law enforcement officers, and medical personnel responded quickly after reports of a two-vehicle collision at the busy intersection.

Police said 39-year-old Whitney Frost of Hopkinsville was attempting to cross the roadway from the Hardee’s side toward the Arby’s parking lot when the incident happened.

At the same time, another vehicle driven by 18-year-old Kiesherra Cushenberry was traveling southbound along Fort Campbell Boulevard. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, causing extensive damage.

The impact caused Frost’s vehicle to overturn and land upside down. Witnesses at the scene immediately recognized the seriousness of the situation and rushed to help while waiting for emergency responders to arrive.

Emergency Response and Investigation

When first responders reached the crash site, they found Frost still inside the overturned vehicle. A bystander had reportedly been supporting her head and neck to help prevent further injury until trained medical personnel could take over.

Rescue crews carefully removed Frost from the vehicle and transported her to Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville. Medical professionals later determined that additional treatment was necessary and arranged for her to be airlifted to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

Officials have not released details regarding the nature or severity of her injuries. Family members and friends have been awaiting updates as she continues receiving medical care.

The second driver involved, Cushenberry, also suffered injuries in the collision. Authorities reported that she sustained injuries to her arms and was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment. Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators noted that both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Safety experts frequently point to seat belt use as one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of severe injury during traffic accidents.

The collision temporarily drew attention from motorists traveling through the area as emergency crews worked to assist the injured and clear the scene. Fort Campbell Boulevard is one of Hopkinsville’s most heavily traveled roads, serving local businesses, restaurants, and residential neighborhoods.

Police continue to examine the circumstances that led to the crash. No information regarding possible citations or contributing factors has been announced publicly. Investigators are expected to review evidence collected at the scene as part of their ongoing work.

The accident has sparked concern among members of the Hopkinsville community, many of whom have expressed support for those involved. As Whitney Frost remains under medical care in Nashville, residents continue to hope for positive updates regarding her recovery.

Authorities have encouraged drivers to remain attentive when traveling through busy intersections and commercial areas where vehicles frequently enter and exit roadways. The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
